“DIVA! Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery” is a unique exhibition of 200 pieces of Italian fashion designers’ and major bijoutiers’ creations that include vintage and contemporary pieces.
Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and curated by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at the Milan Polytechnic and Director of the Vicenza Jewellery Museum, with Beatrice Rossato, Livia Tenuta, and Susanna Testa, “DIVA!” presents Italian fashion jewellery as the aesthetic mirror of an evolving society, illustrating women’s achievements via transformations in style and the innovation of shapes and materials introduced by independent designers.
From 29 October to 9 November, the exhibition will showcase these extraordinary jewels both as an aesthetic ornament and as a ‘cultural’ object embodying the roots and values of Italian culture.
Venue: Welgemeend, 2 Welgemeend Street, Gardens, Cape Town.
